Yadkin Valley Hounds, Inc. is a chartered North Carolina corporation and is governed by a Board of Directors elected by voting members. Voting members must hold certificates of membership in the corporation, and must be active, riding members of YVH. There are currently 65 riding and non-riding members of YVH. Members are invited to all social functions including Opening Hunt Breakfast, Right Start Party (September), Boxing Day Party (December 26), St. Patrick's Day Party, Hunt Dinner and Auction (February-March), and Annual Membership Meeting (April)

FOXHUNTING MEMBERSHIPS:

• Family ($2000): All members of an immediate family (spouse and children), any one of whom may ride as a member of the Field. Children may ride under their family membership until the age of 25. Family members have full privileges at the Clubhouse and its 90 acres of bridle path and picnic spots. Family members may ride together at the clubhouse without charge. Non-family guests may purchase $10 day passes. The same guest may ride at YVH a max. of three times a year. A first-time Family membership without at least two previously acquired certificates will be issued two certificates of membership in the corporation. Family members are eligible to receive Hunt Colors and adults in the family may serve as officers or directors.
• Senior ($1000): Any person 21 years or older who may ride as a member of the Field. A Senior is included in and invited to all YVH activities. Seniors have full privileges at the Clubhouse and its 90 acres of bridle path and picnic spots. Senior members may bring immediate family members to ride with them at the clubhouse without charge. Guests may purchase $10 day passes. The same guest may ride a max. of three times a year. A first-time Senior member who does not hold at least one previously acquired certificate will be issued a certificate of membership in the corporation. Senior members are eligible to receive Hunt Colors and may serve as officers or directors.
• Novice Senior ($600): Any person 21 or older who has never ridden to hounds of an organized hunt and who may ride as a member of the Field for an introductory period of one season/hunting year (cubbing and regular seasons combined) at a reduced fee in order to gain an appreciation for and experience with the sport of riding to hounds. A Novice Senior is included in and invited to all YVH activities. Novice Seniors have full privileges at the Clubhouse and its 90 acres of bridle path and picnic spots. Novice Senior members may bring immediate family members to ride with them at the clubhouse without charge. Non-family guests may purchase $10 day passes. The same guest may ride a max. of three times a year. A Novice Senior can be upgraded to a Senior or Family membership upon payment of additional fees. The Novice Senior is eligible to receive Hunt Colors and may serve as officer or director.
• Limited Senior ($400): Any person 21 or older who may ride as a member of the Field for a maximum of six (6) times during the 2010-11 hunting season. A Limited Senior is included in and invited to all YVH activities. Ltd. Seniors have full privileges at the Clubhouse and its 90 acres of bridle path and picnic spots. Ltd. senior members may purchase $10 day passes for family members or guests who would like to ride with them at the clubhouse. The same guest may ride at YVH a max. of three times a year. Limited Seniors may serve as an officer or director. Limited Seniors are not eligible to receive Hunt Colors.
• Junior ($150): Anyone under 21 years of age who may ride as a member of the Field. Juniors have full privileges at the Clubhouse and its 90 acres of bridle path and picnic spots. Junior members may bring immediate family members to ride with them at the clubhouse without charge. Non-family guests may purchase $10 day passes. The same guest may ride at YVH a max. of three times a year. Juniors are eligible to receive Hunt Colors but are not eligible to serve as directors or officers.

RIDING MEMBERSHIPS:

• House Membership - Family ($500): All members of an immediate family (spouse and children), any one of whom may enjoy full privileges at the Clubhouse and its 90 acres of bridle path and picnic spots. (Trails & property closed during fund-raising events, when YVH hunts the club property or when weather or work conditions warrant.) Family House Members are included in and invited to all YVH social activities.A Family House Member may purchase $10 day passes for guests. The same guest may ride at YVH a maximum of three times a year. Each person in the Family House Membership will receive one complimentary capping during the hunt season, and may cap an additional three (3) times after paying the capping fee.
• House Membership - Individual ($300): An Individual House Member has full privileges at the Clubhouse and its 90 acres of bridle path and picnic spots. (Trails & property closed during fund-raising events, when YVH hunts the club property or when weather or work conditions warrant.)An Individual House Member is included in and invited to all YVH social activities. House members may purchase $10 day passes for immediate family members or guests who would like to accompany them. The same family member or guest may ride at YVH a maximum of three times a year. A House member will receive one complimentary capping during the hunt season, and may cap an additional three (3) times after paying the capping fee. A House Member is not eligible to receive Hunt colors or to serve as officer or director.

GAME/BIRD HUNTING & FISHING MEMBERSHIPS:
A limited number of memberships will be accepted by the board of directors that allow gun hunting. These members will need to give 24 hours’ notice prior to a day of hunting or fishing on YVH property. Each member must comply with all NC Wildlife Commission laws and regulations. Property is closed during fund-raising events, when YVH hunts the club property or when weather or work conditions warrant.

SOCIAL MEMBERSHIPS:
($75): An individual who is included in and invited to all YVH social activities. Social members do not have riding privileges of their own, but may pay for a day pass to accompany a riding member on club trails a max. of three times a year. Social members desiring to participate in foxhunting are invited to cap according to current capping policy. Social members are not eligible to serve as directors or officers or to receive Hunt colors.

Hunt Colors and Staff Appointments: YVH colors are forest green collars with gold piping. Hunt buttons display the initials "YVH." The privilege of wearing the hunt colors is awarded by the Joint Masters based upon the member meeting certain criteria which may include proper hunt etiquette, riding ability and participation in the hunt club activities. Likewise, the Joint Masters appoint the whippers-in and field masters.

Masters of Foxhounds Association of America (MFHA): YVH endorses and encourages our members to join MFHA through an annual subscribing membership of $35.00. MFHA promotes and preserves foxhunting and countryside values. Members receive a subscription to Covertside and a bumper sticker with logo.
