YVH Hotline: Because weather conditions can suddenly affect hunting, we recommend you confirm that hounds will hunt as scheduled by calling 336-998-3346. Our huntsman will leave an updated message on the answering machine. Bulletins are also posted here, whenever possible, on the YVH website. Members may also contact the huntsman or joint master. Tailgates: Riding members are expected to provide one tailgate lunch during the hunt season after a Saturday, Sunday or holiday hunt. Two members who give joint tailgates will need to provide two tailgates a season. We all like to eat, so remember there is no such thing as a free lunch! Please sign up for a date or dates. Non-riding members who come out to enjoy the tailgates with the field are encouraged to sign up for a tailgate as well.

N.C. Hunting License and Hunter Safety Course
Riders must carry a valid N.C. hunting license. In order to hunt at the Perkins & Point Road fixtures, riders must also purchase a gamelands permit. Both the basic hunting license and gamelands permit, which are $15 each, can be purchased from the N.C. Wildlife Resourses Commission and must be carried while you are foxhunting.
If you have never been issued a hunting license before, you must complete a hunter safety course regardless of your age, and present your hunter safety certificate at the time you purchase your license. If you are under the age of 16, you do not need a hunting license as long as you are accompanied by a licensed adult.
You now have the option to complete an on-line hunter safety course as an alternative to classroom instruction. For more information on this option, click here.
