Kennel Construction Update

July 9 - August 22

The interior block for the lodging rooms has been laid. Each room has two formed concrete benches with insulation underneath so the hounds will be comfy all year! The block has been painted with two coats of primer and one top coat of "dirt-colored" epoxy.

Outside, the concrete runs lead from the five lodging rooms. The runs slope away from the kennel building and can be hosed down efficiently into the kennel's septic system. The chain link fencing has been installed. The wash pit for the huntsman's horses has been completed.

Chain-link doors are installed on the lodging rooms and each end of the kennel has industrial grade steel doors.

The YVH Club kitchen is ready and operational. Club members have our own bathroom, including a washing machine for washing horse blankets. The clubroom itself will be remodelled when the kennels are completed.

Huntsman Laurie Baehr's quarters feature a lovely new bathroom, kitchen/dining room, living room and two bedrooms. The heat pump will soon be installed. Laurie's horses have moved to pastures at the Clubhouse for the summer. Three stalls have been beautifully remodelled in the barn.
