Yadkin Valley Hounds held our 33rd Annual Opening Hunt Oct. 31, 2009. We participate in live foxhunting in Davie, Iredell, Rowan, and Yadkin counties in North Carolina. We have both first and second fields — the former follows the Huntsman closely taking all jumps, the latter following at a somewhat slower pace and going around fences.
We meet twice a week, Wednesday and Saturday mornings, during the hunting season, mid-September through mid-March. Specific times and locations are announced on the Fixture Card.

YVH's St. Hubert sees the Captain through combat in Afghanistan

While working in New York a year ago, British Army Captain Tristan Peniston-Bird was recalled to duty in Afghanistan. A veteran fox hunter, he ordered from YVH a St. Hubert's Medal — a bit of extra protection in the volatile area near Sangin in Helmand province. We are delighted to report Capt. Peniston-Bird is now back in London safe and sound, hoping to catch the last few days of fox hunting season, wearing St. Hubert of course!

He spent his post-tour leave in Namibia big game hunting and in Kenya (above) where he rode 150 miles over 9 days across the Masai Mara. That's a giraffe in the background.

Please sign in/out on clipboard in the mailbox near the picnic table. Please ask any guest who accompanies you to sign a liability release, also in the mailbox, and pay for any appropriate guest pass.
