This is a one-day clinic with ground and mounted sessions designed to introduce you to foxhunting etiquette and situations encountered in the hunt field. Lunch with gourmet grilled burgers, courtesy of John Sigmon and Jerry McKenzie, is included and each participant will receive a complimentary capping certificate good for one day's hunting with Yadkin Valley Hounds during the 2008-09 hunt season.
(Lunch only may be purchased for $10 by family/friend accompanying a clinic participant.)

Riders will be divided into two groups: Hilltoppers are the non-jumping group for those who can walk, trot and canter under control, as well as trot over a ground pole. First Field are those riders jumping under control.

Huntsman Kim Sigmon will exhibit the Yadkin Valley Hounds after lunch and be on hand to answer any questions about hounds and hunting. Water for horses and restrooms for riders are available.

Each participant will receive one complimentary capping certificate good for one day's hunting with Yadkin Valley Hounds during the coming hunt season.

Casual attire, hard hat with harness, riding shoes or boots required. Release and waiver of liability must be signed. Negative coggins required. If participant is under the age of 18, he/she must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call Kim Sigmon 336-998-3346 or email the Honorary Secretary.

The cost of the clinic is $50.00. Space is limited. Registration form and payment must be received by Aug 23. (Please call the hotline, 336-998-3346, if you have doubts about the weather.)

Woltz Lane, Advance, is off NC 801 between US 158 and US 64.

From Winston-Salem, Clemmons: Take I-40 west to exit 180 which is the exit for Bermuda Run. Take 801 south through Advance. Go approximately 5 miles, passing through Advance. Turn left on to Peoples Creek Road. There is a large church on this corner. (This road is a loop and intersects 801 closer to Advance, but do not turn there. Turn at the church.) Go approximately 1 mile and turn right on Burton Road. Turn left after 1/2 mile onto Woltz Lane.* Take second gravel drive to the left. Look for YVH signs for parking.

From Hickory, and points west: Take I-40 east to exit 180. Take 801 South and follow directions above.

From Salisbury, and points south: Take 601 north from Salisbury. Turn right on 801 North. Cross US 64 east of Mocksville. Continue on 801 approximately 4 miles. Turn right on to Peoples Creek Road. There is a large church on this corner. (This road is a loop and intersects 801 closer to Advance, but do not turn there. Turn at the church.) Go approximately 1 mile and turn right on Burton Road. Turn left after 1/2 mile onto Woltz Lane.* Take second gravel drive to the left. Look for YVH signs for parking
*Woltz Lane has four asphalt speed bumps. Take it slow with your horse trailer.
